Understanding the problems and issues within the respective fields of logistics and supply chain are invariably complex and require clear reasoning and analysis. More so, the decision making in SCM often requires not only technical competencies from those individuals involved, but also requires them to possess competencies of a more managerial nature.

This online course in SCM aims to equip participants with the required depth & balance of technical and managerial competencies to succeed in this domain. It is designed to enable participants with the knowledge of functions, management and operations of logistics & supply chain systems.

Program Delivery : Sessions will be delivered by XLRI faculties through LIVE lectures that will be beamed online via Internet to student desktops/laptops or classrooms

Programme Schedule :  2.5 Hours every Tuesday and Saturday from 07:00 pm to 9:30 pm IST

Pedagogy (The method and practice of teaching):

The pedagogy comprises lectures by XLRI faculty, case discussions, and hands on exposure to relevant software and tools. Concepts will be explained using examples drawn from the real life and will cover current trends and market practices. All enrolled students will also be provided access to our SLIQ Cloud Campus through which students may access other learning aids, reference materials, assessments, case studies, projects and assignments as appropriate. Throughout the duration of the course, students will have the flexibility to reach out to the professors, real time during the class or offline via our SLIQ Cloud Campus to raise questions and clear doubts.

Dr. Vijayaraghavan is a Professor in the area of Production, Operations Management and Decision Sciences Area & Information Systems at XLRI, Jamshedpur. He also serves as the Associate Dean (International and Corporate Programmes) and Chairperson, Centre for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at XLRI.

Dr. Vijayaraghavan has published a number of papers in Indian and International journals. He is also a Six-Sigma trainer for corporates and has conducted several MDPs on Statistical Methods & Six Sigma for Decision making. He has conducted trainings in SCM programmes for various companies like IPCL, Lafarge Cements, Telcon, Daimler Chrysler, Rane Group, Coke, SAIL, BRPL, Tata Steel, Britannia, Tata Motors etc.

Assessment :

A minimum of 70% attendance to the LIVE lectures is a prerequisite for the successful completion of this course. There are periodic evaluations built in throughout the duration of the course. These maybe in the form of a quiz, assignment, project, case studies or other objective/subjective assessments. The evaluations are designed ensure continuous student engagement with the course and encourage learning. Participants who successfully complete the same along with the requisite attendance criteria, will be awarded a Certificate of Completion by XLRI. Participants who are unable to clear the evaluation criteria but have the requisite attendance will be awarded a participation certificate by XLRI
